Hilton Times Square is all about customer service AND location. The last time we stayed at this hotel, it was being renovated. I was pleased to see that they only did the necessary updates; everything was great before renovating. It sits between 7th and 8th, steps away from the Subway, and around the corner from Penn Station. Being in the heart of Times Square makes it easy to sightsee and eat! The staff is welcoming and goes the extra mile to make you feel at home. We will be back!

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while we were in New York City, we came into the city by train to penn station. The hotel is literally a stones throw from the station. It is also in a great location for visiting all the sights/attractions/shops etc. The staff are very helpful and polite. The rooms were very clean and modern. The breakfast is very goo too. In reception they also have a free hot drinks station which has tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The greatest thing about the…

Good Value in Midtown

We are Hilton Loyalists, so staying at one of their brand on our regular visits to NYC is an easy choice. On this occasion, the Homewood Suites had the price and location that suited us best. The location is excellent, especially for those of us arriving by bus at Penn Station. Rooms are very nicely furnished and a decent size for NYC. Staff were (with one exception) friendly and helpful, and we availed ourselves of the free coffee and cookies that are a Hilton trademark. Only disappointment? – we stay…

Wonderful location, right in the middle of Woodstock, all bars and restaurants within walking distance, very handy if visiting Blenheim Palace and it is a quite impressive building. There are rooms in the main building and some spread around the rear courtyard, we had room 39 which was in the main building on the third floor overlooking the square. It’s a good sized room with all you need for a comfortable stay, the en-suite is not exactly big but is large enough to fulfill your needs. The whole room was…

When I visited NYC a year ago my IHG hotel of choice near Penn Station was booked, so I took a chance on a nearby Holiday Inn Express; bad choice! Back in NYC a few weeks ago, same situation. This time I noticed the recently opened IHG Even Hotel. Good on location and rates, liked the description of venue, and good reviews (though same had been true of the miserable Holiday Inn). With some misgivings I decided to take a chance. Very happy I did. Housed in a recycled vintage…

This was my first time staying at EVEN Hotel Times Square South. I needed a hotel close to Penn Station as I know I would be pressed for time trying to catch my train back to DC after seeing a matinee. They even told me to call ahead of time so that they’d have my bags ready for me to head out. Check-in was quite easy, and I will say the front desk staff was very friendly. The flavored waters are definitely a nice touch. My room was on an…

Best time to see fall colors in NYC – New

rooz Best time to see fall colors in NYC – New image

The fall foliage season usually peaks in the NYC area during the last ten days in October, and as a result, you may miss the best colors if you plan to be here in early November. With that said, mother nature plays a big role and the timing of the best colors is dependent upon rain, wind, cold, and sun. Last year, for example, the colors did not peak in the NYC area until the second week of November. If your timing is right, the best “leaf peeping” near NYC…

MrMichael Participant @MartynSinclair . Here is the review you requested of the train trip From NYC to Providence RI. Booked the tickets online about a month in advance, $188 single for four adults, no changes allowed, no refunds but includes a seat reservation. A seat reservation is not however a seat reservation in the true meaning of the term. On Amtrak services a seat reservation means just that, a seat is reserved for you because they only sell as many tickets as,they have seats, it does not mean as one…

We (DH, DD – 18, and I) arrive at Penn Station around 11 AM on Friday (4/14). Our hotel is on 48th between 8th and 9th and we want to head there first to drop off bags. We like to walk and are accustomed to public transit, so taking the subway isn’t an issue. But it is also a walkable distance and could give us an initial glimpse of Time Square (granted dragging our wheelie bags!) Keeping in mind how much walking we will be doing over the 3 day…

I assume you’re coming from the south as in from Baltimore , etc. I would park at the Hamilton Railroad station off Exit 65B of Interstate 295 in New Jersey (after crossing the Delaware Memorial Bridge, you get on the New Jersey version of I-295. Note that Delaware , Maryland , and Virginia all have 295 highways, not the same. Anyway, Hamilton is 65 miles from NYC, so you are not even close to driving around there or getting lost. You park there for about $10 per day. You take…

Great hotel with easy access to NYC. Breakfast was good each morning and 5 minute shuttle ride to Penn Station plus 20 minute PATH train ride and you’re at the World Trade Center. Drove to hotel, parked and didn’t move the car until we left. Kids also enjoyed the indoor pool.

Perfect location for access to Penn Station and the Prudential Center! Shuttle service was a huge bonus, free and quick. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room could use a little work. No temp control in room and windows were very dirty. Breakfast area was very crowded, but the hotel was pretty packed due to a local event. Parking situation needs alot of improvement, but was overall worth it for free parking.

This hotel is very nice and we stayed in one of the newly remodeled rooms. It was nicely decorated and extremely comfortable beds. The drawback was the hot tub and pool were closed for renovation. This was not stated on the information when we booked and was quite a disappointment. After flying across country all day and having health issues we were really looking forward to the hot tub. When I told the woman at the desk about her disappointment she didn’t seem concerned at all just and I said…

Got the extra perk of staying in a brand new hotel! This is located super close to the tourist attractions like Time Square and Penn Station. The representative that checked me in was polite, courteous, and informative. As far as the room’s quality, I loved the shower, vanity mirror, and unique sliding bathroom door. The room has a modern/contemporary feel, very up to date. I will say that the layout was a bit awkward with the TV facing the room’s entrance, but that’s just nitpicking. You can hear traffic somewhat…
