I have mixed feelings about this hotel. Loved the staff, who were extremely friendly and helpful. When the front desk noted that I was traveling with my son, they upgraded our room to allow for a bit more space, which was greatly appreciated, especially since we were there during the NCAA Tournament and the hotel was heavily booked by NCAA personnel. We were right behind the elevators, but you get used to the noise. The location is extremely convenient to MSG/Penn Station/Times Square/Broadway/High Line, and we took advantage of the nice weather and walked everywhere. The site is older, and although the common areas are attractive, the rooms are in desperate need of some TLC. Nice safety feature on the elevator, you cannot move from the lobby without inserting your room key. The room was “surface clean”, but not chain hotel clean. If you can ignore 10 years of dusty buildup on the windows/baseboards/ceilings and a bathroom that you might encounter at the home of an eccentric Aunt who shops for fixtures at IKEA, you should be okay at this hotel. While the kitchenette seems like a great asset, you are in NYC, and its unlikely you will be eating in your room. I might stay here again, unless I could score a more updated room for the same price in the area…
Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the elevators. See more room tips Green Features: There are many lighting options within the room. Most appeared to come from IKEA.
