KBZK STORMTracker Weather Launches New Weather App Posted:
BOZEMAN – Your KBZK STORMTracker Weather team of meteorologist’s has been working hard on upgrading our digital weather coverage online and we are now launching a new weather app.
This new weather app is iOS and Android compatible.
Our slogan “Montana’s Weather Leader” is a statement we have followed for over 30 years with a dominate presence with weather coverage on TV with Chief Meteorologist Mike Heard and now we lead the way with enhanced online weather coverage and mobile weather coverage like never before in SW Montana with Morning Meteorologist Matt Elwell and Weekend Meteorologist Kenneth Webb.
The new app features a scrolling home page, much like mobile users find on Facebook or Twitter along with old features like specific tabular pages.
The scrolling feature makes this app much more user friendly and you can access many features with a flick of your thumb.
Our STORMTracker weather team produces numerous short fuse forecast video’s that are now available on the home screen of this new app. Morning Meteorologist Matt Elwell will have your morning video’s weekdays, Chief Meteorologist Mike Heard updates the forecast video’s in the afternoon and over the weekend Meteorologist Kenneth Webb will have updated weather forecast video’s for you as well.
We have the ability to send out push alerts from the STORMTracker Weather Center in Bozeman when threatening weather approaches your area and these alerts are right at the top of this new app so you can easily find the information and make quick decisions to change your plans or avoid threatening weather. For example, thunderstorms recently produced small hail that covered I-90 near Manhattan. We sent out an alert and hopefully saved lives for those traveling to slow down due to threatening weather.
Other new features include easy access to take weather photo’s or video’s and send them to your only local weather team to share on air and online.
All of the older features you come to like are also in the new app like live weather radar. In the radar layers you can customize to your liking by turning on or off earthquake locators, the lightning layer will tell you how close lightning strikes are to you, alert layers for winter storms, severe thunderstorms or tornado, road weather, wind speeds, water temperatures and more.
You don’t have time to watch our LIVE local news on KBZK at 5:30 pm or 10 pm or Montana This Morning, no problem, this new app will give you the option to watch our newscasts LIVE right through the app so you don’t miss any local news or weather.
Those who already have the app on their phone or tablet will simply need to download the update.
The app is free to download for everyone from the Apple App Store and Google Play, just search “KBZK” and look for the weather app.
