Team Leader – Lydiard Fields National Distribution CentreYou will be sharing responsibility for the management of health and safety, the receipt; assembly and loading operations for all products during the course of that shift – inclusive of home delivery and horticulture.Responsibilities:To create and sustain a safe working environment and culture, ensuring all statutory requirements are adhered to and exceeded where possibleTo support the shift manager in planning and implementing the daily work programme, allocating work to colleagues and monitoring outputs. Taking action as required to ensure both the individuals and the team meet their performance targetsTo support the shift manager in coaching and developing individualsTo seek ways of reducing variable costs, such as labour, damage, accidents, stock integrity etc.To drive enhanced operational performance, providing regular feedback and celebrating achievementTo develop and sustain appropriate working relationships which foster a team working environment, engaging colleagues across the shiftTo deputise for the shift manager in his/ her absenceAbout you:Proven experience working within a busy distribution environment, preferably in a similar roleAbility to welcome change readily and quick to make decisions and carry them out confidentlyFocused individual who is clear on their own personal development and the development of othersPrioritises health and safety in the workplaceKnowledge and experience in the use of warehouse management systemsKnowledge and understanding of leading people and teamsFlexibility of hours and location is essential Bank or payment details should not be provided when applying for a job. reed.co.uk is not responsible for any external website content.
