We are currently seeking an Accounting Assistant * II * for our Newburgh, NY office. The selected candidate will handle a variety of job responsibilities in this diverse position. S/he will work with individuals at all levels of the company, including management staff. The environment is an office setting with no outdoor work or travel during standard business hours.
Job Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day operations of accounts payable to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and expense reimbursements Manage vendor maintenance, including setting up new vendors, maintaining any changes, and ensuring compliance with applicable internal controls around new vendors Ensure that all invoices are accurate and have been properly documented and approved by the authorizing employee prior to processing Work with outside vendors to resolve payment issues, and reconcile discrepancies Audit expense reports for accuracy, proper expense disclosure, and compliance with company policy Assist with month-end closing process Provide year-end audit support and assist with audit-related questions Provide timely and accurate invoicing to the client in accordance with contracted terms Maintain orderly files and records for audit and reference.
Key Areas of Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is preferred 1-2 years bookkeeping/accounting/accounts payable experience Prior experience with BST Enterprise would be a plus Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Knowledge of Adobe preferred. Attention to detail and accuracy is crucial Problem analysis, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills are needed Aptitude to work independently and as a team player is essential Solid communication (written, verbal, and interpersonal) skills are required Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills are vital Capacity to multi-task and prioritize workload in an often fast-paced environment is necessary.
